1. 🏦 Ripple Applies for US Banking License

   Ripple Labs is seeking a national banking license from the US Office of the Comptroller of the Currency (OCC). The move closely follows Circle's application, aligning both companies with the GENIUS Act. Ripple aims to strengthen trust in its Ripple USD (RLUSD) stablecoin and is also applying for a Master Account with the Federal Reserve, enabling direct reserve holding at the US central bank.

2. 🟣 First Solana Staking ETF Goes Live

   The REX Osprey Solana Staking ETF (SSK) made a strong debut, racking up $33M in trading volume and $12M in inflows. Despite SEC pushback, it launched via a regulatory workaround and gives investors spot SOL exposure with staking rewards.

3. 🔵 Coinbase Acquires Liquifi

   Coinbase just scooped up Liquifi, a token management platform, to make launching tokens faster and easier for onchain builders. The deal brings tools for vesting, compliance, and cap table management under Coinbase’s roof, with plans to integrate into Coinbase Prime.

4. 💥 Katana Debuts with $200M+ in TVL

   Katana, a new DeFi focused L2, just launched with over $200M in TVL, one of the strongest debuts this year. Built by the Katana Foundation and backed by Polygon’s Agglayer program, it offers yield strategies across Sushi, Morpho, and more. They also have an airdrop incoming for $POL stakers.

5. 🚫 Arizona Governor Vetoes Crypto Seizure Fund Bill

   Arizona’s Governor Katie Hobbs has vetoed a bill that would’ve created a state run crypto reserve using seized cryptos. This marks her third crypto related veto, even as other states like Texas and New Hampshire move forward with similar initiatives.

Robinhood stirred things up at Cannes this week with its bold move into tokenized assets. Here's the quick breakdown:

Tokenized Stocks & ETFs: Robinhood rolled out over 200 tokenized U.S. stocks and ETFs for EU users via Ethereum’s Arbitrum L2, enabling 24/5 commission-free trading

Tokenization of Private Equity: The platform also dropped tokenized exposure to private companies namely OpenAI and SpaceX, giving EU users €5 worth via an SPV

OpenAI Statement: OpenAI released a cautionary statement, warning the tokens aren’t real equity and declined to endorse them

Market Response: Robinhood shares surged (up ~6–12%), driven by bullish views on tokenization and their newly annouced Robinhood Chain

Robinhood is leaning hard into tokenization rolling out stocks, ETFs, private equity and building its own L2. It’s a major push to blur the line between traditional finance and crypto. Robinhood are one of many carving out the future of tokenized assets and it’s clear this is only the beginning of what’s to come.
