1. 💰 Tether Ranks 7th Globally in U.S. Treasury Holdings

   Tether, the issuer of USDT, became the world's 7th-largest buyer of US Treasurys in 2024, surpassing countries like Canada and Taiwan with $33.1 billion in purchases. This reflects the increasing adoption of stablecoins by investors and regulators, with the total stablecoin supply now surpassing $219 billion.

2.  ⚖️ SEC Drops Case Against Ripple

   The SEC’s long-running case against Ripple has come to an end, according to CEO Brad Garlinghouse, who announced that the regulator will drop its appeal. This marks a major victory for Ripple, concluding a legal battle that began in 2020 over an alleged $1.3 billion unregistered securities offering.

3. 🔥 VC Firms Pour $400M Into TON Blockchain

   Venture firms, including Sequoia and Benchmark, invested over $400 million in TON blockchain, signaling interest in Telegram’s ecosystem. TON now has 41 million accounts, up from 4 million last year, with a goal to onboard 30% of Telegram’s users within three years.

4. 🐧 Canary Files for PENGU ETF

   Canary Capital has filed to list an ETF holding PENGU tokens and Pudgy Penguins NFTs, making it the first ETF to include NFTs if approved. The fund may also hold SOL and ETH for transactions.

5. 🔄 EOS Network Rebrands to Vaulta

   EOS Network has rebranded to Vaulta as it shifts focus to Web3 banking, with the transition set for late May. The rebrand includes a new token, a Vaulta Banking Advisory Council, and integration with exSat and BankingOS.

6. 🤝 Ethena & Securitize Unveil Converge

   Ethena Labs and Securitize are launching Converge, an EVM compatible blockchain with built-in KYC and custody solutions, expected in Q2 2025. Securitize will use Converge to issue tokenized assets, including fixed-income products and perpetual swaps.
