Crypto.com has filed a lawsuit against the SEC, its Chair Gary Gensler, and four commissioners, accusing the regulator of overstepping its authority in regulating the U.S. crypto industry. The legal action follows a Wells notice issued to Crypto.com by the SEC.

Canary Capital has filed for a spot XRP ETF, following Bitwise’s similar filing a week earlier. The ETF faces regulatory challenges of approval due to the SEC’s ongoing lawsuit against Ripple.

Wirex Pay launched its chain for payments, enhancing security through non-custodial wallets, addressing declining trust in centralized platforms. The app allows selected users to make cryptocurrency payments securely, giving them control over their funds with private keys.

The U.S. government is preparing to auction off 69,370 Bitcoins seized from the Silk Road marketplace, following the Supreme Court’s decision not to take up a legal dispute over the assets. This large Bitcoin sell-off has raised concerns about potential market instability.

EigenLayer faced controversies after a hacker stole $5.5 million worth of EIGEN tokens by accessing an investor’s email and rerouting 1.6 million tokens to their own wallets. EigenLayer clarified that the incident did not affect the network’s on-chain security and was not due to a bug or exploit.

HBO’s Money Electric has been released, promising to reveal the identity of Bitcoin’s creator, Satoshi Nakamoto. The documentary speculates that Canadian developer Peter Todd might be Nakamoto, citing a suspicious 2013 email exchange and an instance where Todd seemingly corrected Satoshi.

Dan Gallagher, Robinhood’s Chief Legal Officer, is a top contender for SEC Chair if Trump wins in 2024. Gallagher, a former SEC commissioner, has criticized the agency’s crypto regulations. His potential appointment is notable as Robinhood Crypto recently received a Wells Notice from the SEC.

The SEC has filed civil lawsuits against four crypto firms, accusing them of fraud, market manipulation, and wash trading. Additionally, the SEC seized $25 million in cryptocurrency from trading bots involved in the schemes.

U.S. Judge John Dorsey approved FTX’s bankruptcy plan to repay customers in cash plus interest, using $16 billion in recovered assets. The plan guarantees at least 118% of customer account values from November 2022.

Trump-backed World Liberty Financial submitted a proposal to Aave to launch on its DeFi protocol, using Aave’s infrastructure to boost liquidity for stablecoins, Ether, and Wrapped Bitcoin. The proposal also includes revenue sharing with AaveDAO.
