1. 🔵 Coinbase to Join S&P 500

   Coinbase (COIN) will officially be added to the S&P 500 on May 19, becoming the first crypto company included in the index. This move will place Coinbase into millions of investment portfolios via S&P 500 index tracking funds. COIN shares jumped nearly 9% in after-hours trading following the announcement.

2. 🤝 Synthetix Plans $27M Derive Acquisition

   Synthetix is proposing to acquire crypto options platform Derive in a $27 million token swap deal, exchanging 1 SNX for 27 DRV tokens. The acquisition is pending approval from both communities via SIP-415.

3. 🖼️ CryptoPunks IP Acquired by Infinite Node Foundation

   Infinite Node Foundation has acquired the IP of the iconic CryptoPunks NFT collection from Yuga Labs. The deal, with undisclosed terms, includes a $25 million endowment, making NODE the most well-funded digital art nonprofit in the U.S.

4. 💰 Robinhood Buys WonderFi for $179M

   Robinhood is acquiring Canadian crypto firm WonderFi for $179M to expand globally. WonderFi runs Bitbuy and Coinsquare, with $2.1B CAD in assets. The deal is part of a broader 2025 crypto M&A wave and follows Robinhood’s earlier Bitstamp acquisition.

5.  📊 VanEck Launches Onchain Economy ETF

   VanEck has launched a new ETF called NODE to give investors exposure to blockchain-related stocks like miners, exchanges, and fintechs. It won’t hold crypto directly but can invest in crypto linked financial products.
