The Cronos blockchain was abruptly halted on Sunday following an exploit on lending protocol Tectonic, resulting in an estimated $75 million in illicitly borrowed assets. The attacker manipulated TONIC's thin liquidity to pump its price 100 fold within 20 minutes before taking out loans, managing to bridge roughly $6 million to Ethereum before the chain was halted. Nvidia has agreed to acquire open-source AI platform Hugging Face for $12.93 billion, marking a major push beyond hardware into developer software and model distribution. Under the terms of the transaction, which is slated to close in 2027, Nvidia will pay roughly $11.9 billion to shareholders alongside up to $1 billion in employee equity retention awards. Asset manager Strive purchased 1,800 Bitcoin for approximately $143 million last week at an average price of $79,431, lifting its total reserves to 23,156 BTC. The acquisition pushed Strive to become the fifth largest publicly traded corporate holder of Bitcoin globally.
