📉 Strategy Posts $8.2B Q2 Loss on BTC Price Drop
Strategy posted an $8.22 billion Q2 net loss, driven almost entirely by an $8.32 billion unrealized paper loss as Bitcoin fell 14% during the quarter. Despite the drawdown, the company expanded its treasury to 843,775 BTC (up 25% YTD) and launched a BTC monetization program, selling $218.4 million in Bitcoin to help fund preferred stock dividends.
⚖️ New York Sues Kalshi
New York Attorney General filed a lawsuit against prediction market platform Kalshi, alleging it operates an unlicensed, illegal gambling business by offering event contracts on sports and elections.
